CD-R
This medium can be recorded only once and can be used to create a personalised CD with a compatible writing unit and software. This type of CD can contain approximately 75 minutes of audio or 650 MB of data, so it can be used to store information or superior quality audio. Recording can take place in one single session o during several sessions (multi-session). Once recorder, data cannot be modified any further. CD-Rs come in different colours , with different features. Gold CDs are the best type, with a phtalocyanine layer. Blue: slightly inferior quality than golf, cheaper, with an Azo layer. Green: even cheaper, but of a lesser quality, and more subject to damage, with a cyanide layer.

Cd-card
As thick as a credit card, as big as a business card, a CD-Card is the best way to carry around data, music, graphics and programs. Elegant and discrete, it can't be missing from the toolset of a successful manager.
It is a perfectly normal CD-ROM, sized like a business card and thick as a credit card. It appears as a plastic card, bend and shock resistant, with a central hole. It works like a normal CD-ROM: you simply need to insert it into any reader to access its content. If the CD-Card contains programs or video games, you will need a reader connected to a PC, if it contains audio tracks, any reader will be able to play them, from the stereo in the living room to the in-car reader. The CD-Card surface can be silk screened in monochrome, policrome. Logos, titles, in fact any design is possible.
There are basically endless uses for a CD-Card. Given the fact that it is a digital CD-ROM, this card can be used to store data, although in a lesser amount than a normal CD-ROM. But this is rather trivial. A CD-Card could be a business card for a Company, including a corporate presentation, the phone directory and PR information. Because of its size, it is extremely handy when carrying around data, like an image portfolio: with a CD burner and a digital camera, it could be the perfect photo album. In the music industry, CD-Cards have numerous applications: short albums, song archives and studies to deploy CD-Cards in music events (concerts, presentations, etc.) are being now studied. In the DVD version, it is the perfect vehicle for music and film video clips.
